The role of Fairway Bayside Aged Care Limited Limited and its Board of Directors.

Fairway Bayside Aged Care Limited is an approved provider under the Aged Care Act 1997. It is a registered charity which reports to and is regulated by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission, and its membership reflects the community of friends of Fairway who are committed to maintaining this unique facility. The Board of Directors is elected by members at the Annual General Meeting and works tirelessly to meet all legislative requirements and plan Fairway’s strategic direction for the future. The Board works with the CEO to ensure that Fairway’s values are maintained and strengthened.

Michael Scully – Director and Chairperson

Michael holds a B.Econ. (Hons) and LLB and was a commercial lawyer for 38 years. He was Vice President of the Association from November 2015, when he first joined the governing body, until May 2018 and from that time has been Chairperson. He has lived in Bayside for over 50 years and is the son of a past resident. Michael chairs the Risk and Audit Committee, and is a member of the Clinical Governance Committee.

Anthony Price – Director and Secretary

Anthony worked in London for 37 years as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales before migrating to Australia in 2001 and settling in Sandringham. He has been a member of the governing body since 2012 and Secretary since 2016.

Stephanie Clark – Director

Stephanie is a retired health care professional with a broad range of experience in both acute and aged care sectors. Stephanie’s last role before retiring was as CEO of a community based aged care organisation during which time she was involved in the planning, building and commissioning of a new aged care home. Stephanie has lived in the Bayside area for the last 9 years.

Kevin McDonnell – Director

CPA, FCIS, FGIA, FAICD (past). Kevin has over 30 years’ experience in senior finance & general management roles including directorship of both private & listed public companies in manufacturing, distribution and service industries. He has been involved with Fairway since 2006 serving as Treasurer and general committee member for 8 years, rejoined as Treasurer in 2017.

Laurence Evans OAM – Director

Founding Member and Secretary of Sandringham Aged Care Association in 1992, Past President of FBACL, Mayor City of Sandringham 1990/1991, Mayor of Bayside City Council 2013/2014, 2017/2018, 2020/2021 and current Bayside City Councillor.

Stephen Domancie – Director

Stephen holds an MBA and Diploma in business management, he’s an Executive General Manager retail operations for Kathmandu, a large footprint retailer which is part of KMD Brands. Stephen and his wife immigrated to Australia in 2009 from South Africa and has two young boys and has been part of the Bayside community since that date. Stephens background has been in vertical Brands and retailers includes senior management roles for businesses like Puma and Sportmans warehouse and has had experience in both South Africa and United Kingdom.

Marcie Zamora – Director

Marcela is an experienced Accountant, Project Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and Property Developer. She is also currently undertaking a bachelor’s degree in Law (graduate entry). Marcela’s background includes over 20 years’ experience in pivotal positions where she has been fortunate to enjoy commercial success both in internal management positions, and as a successful business consultant and project manager.

Marcela is an Affiliate member of CPA Australia and has worked in accounting and finance management roles for many years. She is currently Chief Financial Officer and Trust Accountant for The Avenue Property Co. (Real Estate) and has a strong aptitude in property development.

Fairway Senior Staff

Alice Roos – CEO & Director of Care

Alice is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Health Administration at the University of New South Wales. She is well experienced in senior management roles in both acute and aged care. Alice has also worked as a Senior Quality Assessor at the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission.   On 5 September 2022, she joined Fairway Bayside Aged Care initially as the Acting Director of Care and Clinical Services prior to taking on the dual roles of Chief Executive Officer and Director of Care. Alice enjoys conversations with the residents and representatives and providing them with individualised care.

Away from work, Alice loves classical music, enjoys some operas and totally passionate about ballet.

Always grateful for the experiences (both work and leisure) she has had for the day, she is ever ready to meet the residents with a smile in the morning!

Lindsay Paice – Clinical & Quality Manager

Lindsay began his nursing career in Brisbane, Queensland as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse in 2003 and then moved to Melbourne in 2010. In 2013 Lindsay completed a Bachelor of Nursing at Federation University Ballarat and with further studies in Healthcare Management in 2015. Lindsay has also worked as a Qualified Mental Health Nurse for Mercy Mental Health and as Manager for Kara Court Aged Care Home with East Wimmera Health Services. Lindsay joined Fairway on 6th December as the Clinical Care & Quality Manager and is passionate about working in the Aged Care industry with the aim of making a positive difference to the elderly. When not working Lindsay enjoys fitness activities and has an interest in landscape photography.

Margaret Maher – Lifestyle Coordinator

Margaret Maher has extensive aged care experience as a personal carer and lifestyle assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Dementia at University of Tasmania and has completed a range of certifications in Leisure and Health, aged care, home and community care and information technology. Margaret previously worked at Mercy Place Fernhill and St Leigh Nursing Home. Margaret has a passion for delivering person centered care.
