The role of Fairway Bayside Aged Care Limited Limited and its Board of Directors.

Fairway Bayside Aged Care Limited is an approved provider under the Aged Care Act 1997. It is a registered charity which reports to and is regulated by the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission, and its membership reflects the community of friends of Fairway who are committed to maintaining this unique facility. The Board of Directors is elected by members at the Annual General Meeting and works tirelessly to meet all legislative requirements and plan Fairway’s strategic direction for the future. The Board works with the CEO to ensure that Fairway’s values are maintained and strengthened.

Michael Scully – Director and Chairperson

Michael holds a B.Econ. (Hons) and LLB and was a commercial lawyer for 38 years. He was Vice President of the Association from November 2015, when he first joined the governing body, until May 2018 and from that time has been Chairperson. He has lived in Bayside for over 50 years and is the son of a past resident. Michael chairs the Risk and Audit Committee, and is a member of the Clinical Governance Committee.

Anthony Price – Director and Secretary

Anthony worked in London for 37 years as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales before migrating to Australia in 2001 and settling in Sandringham. He has been a member of the governing body since 2012 and Secretary since 2016.

Laurence Evans OAM – Director and Deputy Chairperson

Founding Member and Secretary of Sandringham Aged Care Association in 1992, Past President of FBACL, Mayor City of Sandringham 1990/1991, Mayor of Bayside City Council 2013/2014, 2017/2018, 2020/2021 and current Bayside City Councillor.

Stephen Domancie – Director

Stephen holds an MBA and Diploma in business management, he’s an Executive General Manager retail operations for Kathmandu, a large footprint retailer which is part of KMD Brands. Stephen and his wife immigrated to Australia in 2009 from South Africa and has two young boys and has been part of the Bayside community since that date. Stephens background has been in vertical Brands and retailers includes senior management roles for businesses like Puma and Sportmans warehouse and has had experience in both South Africa and United Kingdom.

Olivia Darcy – Director

Olivia started her career in chartered accounting before moving overseas to work in investment banking. Upon returning to Australia, Olivia worked for ANZ in a variety of roles across projects, corporate communications and finance. Following a lifestyle change, she moved to a farm in regional Victoria and worked as CFO of a community-based, not-for-profit aged care facility igniting a passion for using skills gained from a corporate background in the “for purpose” sector.

Olivia has a Bachelor of Business, is a CPA and currently works as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Better Place Australia.
Olivia has three young boys and is treasurer of their school council and her father was a former resident of Fairway.

Michelle Ventura – Director

Michelle’s career as a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing spans over 15 years. She has built a solid background in acute care and the academe in the earlier years of her practice. Since migrating to Australia in 2011, Michelle has accumulated a wealth of experience in the aged care sector stemming from her various leadership and management roles in both Operations and Clinical Governance. She currently looks after 88 residential aged care facilities as the Program Manager for Clinical Practice, Projects and Systems for one of the largest aged care providers in the country. As a mum to three young girls, Michelle is determined to consistently seek that sweet balance between pursuing her passion to bring about positive and sustainable change to residential aged care and being fully present for her family. Michelle is thrilled to be part of such a dynamic and engaged Board of Directors and is looking forward to helping make our residents’ lives at Fairway Aged Care better than ever.

Charles Crisostomo – CEO

Charles is a Registered Nurse who holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Edinburgh Business School. His management background spans across programmes funded by the Commonwealth (i.e. Specialist Dementia Care Program; SDCP), the state (e.g. Transitional Care Program; TCP), not-for-profit, public, and private organisations. Notable among these is his management of Victoria’s pioneering dementia village, which features the inaugural SDCP of the state. Charles is deeply committed to supporting Fairway in bolstering its position as a leading vibrant community of care in the Bayside. 

Terry Coleing – Business/Finance Manager

Terry is a qualified accountant and has many years of financial experience working in the not-for-profit sector. His previous role before joining Fairway was at BlueCross Aged Care where is oversaw process improvements and prior to that he worked for several years in a mental health wellbeing initiative which is close to his heart. He has also worked in Education and Health sectors leading teams in Estates Maintenance, IT, Finance, Payroll and Project Management in major new build projects. Terry has a passion for a ‘paperless office’ and strives for process improvement in all his direct responsibilities

Cathy Lane – Quality and Education Manager

Cathy Lane is a Registered Nurse with extensive aged care and mental health experience. Cathy’s priority is and always has been people, those with which she works and those she provides services to. She has excelled in a variety of senior management and project roles over the years. Her most recent role with Monash Health as a Quality Partner provided her with valuable insight and experience in quality management and clinical governance. Cathy’s mission is to nurture and enrich the continuous improvement culture at Fairway with a focus on safe, quality care and services which truly enhance quality of life for all.
