Our Story of Aged Care in Bayside

Not-for-profit care built by the community, for the community since 1995.

Our Story

A Community Vision for Quality Aged Care in Bayside

Fairway is a fully accredited, government-funded, not-for-profit residential aged care facility in Bayside, now offering 85 beds and a strong commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Our story is deeply connected to the Bayside community. In the mid-1980s, a group of dedicated local residents recognised the need for quality aged care that would allow people to remain close to their families, friends, and familiar surroundings. Their vision led to the establishment of Fairway in 1995 as a 30-bed not-for-profit home focused on both clinical excellence and overall well-being.

As the needs of the community grew, Fairway expanded in 2004 to accommodate 62 residents, and again in 2017–2018 to 65 beds, introducing specialised memory support and dementia care services.

Our most recent expansion, completed in 2026, increased our capacity to 85 beds with the addition of premium rooms and enhanced communal facilities, including a new café, an internal courtyard, and undercover parking.

Today, Fairway continues to honour its founding values, delivering compassionate, community-based aged care that supports residents to live with dignity, comfort, and connection.
